Young O'Donnell rushed into a church, placed his rifle under a pew and entered the confessional. "Father," he said breathlessly, "I've just shot down two British lieutenants!"

Hearing no response he went on: "I also knocked off a British captain!"

When there was still no response from the priest, O'Donnell said, "Father, have ye fainted?"

"Of course I haven't fainted," replied the confessor. "I'm waitin' for you to stop talkin' politics and commence confessin' your sins!"

'Obama is Irish' song smash hit on YouTube

Yup. Barack Obama, 44th President of the good old USA is as Irish as Bono. His great-great-grandfather came from Moneygall in County Offaly.

To celebrate, we present the song 'There's No One as Irish as Barack Obama', sung by Hardy Drew and the Nancy Boys. It became an instant big hit on YouTube, getting nearly 400,000 views in the first two weeks.

The band have been invited to Washington DC by Irish American Democrats to perform at Obama's inauguration party on 19th of Janurary 2009. Go Irish!
