In the Petrified Forest of Lesvos
in Greece stands this fossilized tree trunk. It is
one of a cluster of standing fossilized trunks, remnants
of a sub-tropical forest that existed on the north-west
part of the island 20-15 million years ago. They are
preserved in excellent condition to this day.
