KATE MOSS MAKES SCREEN
DEBUT FOR AGENT PROVOCATEUR
From cocaine controversy
to making her debut on screen - Kate Moss
has come a long way.
Supermodel Kate was being told her career
was all washed up in September 2005, after
she was filmed by the UK Daily Mirror allegedly
using cocaine in a recording studio with drug
troubled boy friend Pete Doherty.
Several sponsors disassociated themselves
following publication of pictures of Moss
allegedly cutting and inhaling cocaine. Moss
issued an apology though she stopped short
of admitting drug use. "I take full responsibility
for my actions. I also accept that there are
various personal issues that I need to address
and have started taking the difficult, yet
necessary, steps to resolve them," she
said. "I want to apologize to all of
the people I have let down because of my behavior
which has reflected badly on my family, friends,
co-workers, business associates and others."
But Kate made a sensational comeback just
months after the cocaine scandal broke. Today
she makes more money than before the scandal.
Her contracts for the 2006 Fall/Winter season
include Rimmel, Virgin Mobile, Belstaff, Beymen,
Dior, Louis Vuitton, Roberto Cavalli, Longchamp,
Stella McCartney, Bulgari, Chanel, Nikon,
David Yurman, Versace, Mia Shvili, Calvin
Klein Jeans and Burberry.
One year on from the scandal she is right
up there at the top of her career, making
her film debut, as these promo pictures from
Agent Provocateur lingerie show. Kate was
persuaded to model for them and make her acting
debut in their latest marketing campaign,
The Four Dreams of Miss X - a series of short
films directed by Mike Figgis. Mike is the
man who made such modern classics as Internal
Affairs and Leaving Las Vegas.
"I leapt at the chance to work with Mike
Figgis for Agent Provocateur, as it's the
only lingerie I wear," Kate told the
UK Sunday Times Style magazine.
The pictures are taken from the movies, which
were made exclusively for the Agent Provocateur
website - www.agentprovocateur.com.
Yup. Barack Obama, 44th President of the good old
USA is as Irish as Bono. His great-great-grandfather came from Moneygall
in County Offaly.
To celebrate, we present the song 'There's No One as Irish as Barack Obama',
sung by Hardy Drew and the Nancy Boys. It became an instant big hit on
YouTube, getting nearly 400,000 views in the first two weeks.
The band have been invited to Washington DC by Irish American Democrats
to perform at Obama's inauguration party on 19th of Janurary 2009. Go
Irish!
So get practising! To help you out, here's the words
of the song:
