The embrace of the Black Widow spider: The
Black Widow is considered the most venomous of all
the spiders in North America. The venom of the Black
Widow spider is 15 times as toxic as the venom of
the prairie rattlesnake.
So guys watch out - females may occasionally kill
and eat a male after mating. Before you take up the
invitation to "let's mate", think again,
is it really really REALLY worth it?
There are more than 35,000 species of spider in the
world. Just so as you will recognize the deadly female
Black Widow variety, she is shiny black, usually with
a reddish hourglass shape on the underside of her
spherical abdomen. And she is about twice the size
