Has your partner threatened to give you the clap
(gonorrhea) for Christmas?
Or what about the pox (syphilis)?
Well don't give them the big elbow yet. Their intentions
may be perfectly good.
US toymaker GIANTmicrobes produces these 'cute' giant
bugs so you can take them to bed with you.
The plush toys that look like microbes were originally
made as educational tools for kids.
But the strange looking furry animals proved such
a hit with adults that they also want to have fun
with them.
Each bug is made to look as it appears under an electron
microscope, but it's a million times actual size.
.
"Our Bed Bug won't bite -- but tuck someone in
with it and we guarantee a smile and pleasant dreams!"
the company promises.
If you ever had glandular fever, then it was mononucleosis
- or the 'kissing disease' - that caused you grief.
It's another favorite bug.
Or if you spent most of your vacation abroad sitting
on the toilet after drinking contaminated water, giardia
may have been to blame - it comes as a cuddley blue
doll.
The Ebola virus is the big daddy of the bug world,
according to the company.
"Since its discovery in 1976m ebola has become
the T Rex of microbes. Share the love."
Each 5-to-7 inch doll is accompanied by an image of
the real microbe it represents, as well as information
about the microbe.
"They make great learning tools for parents and
educators, as well as amusing gifts for anyone with
a sense of humor!" says the company.
Stuffed toys available also include: mad cow disease,
fleas, malaria, acne, rabies, salmonella, the black
death, common cold, flu, sore throat, stomach ache,
cough, ear ache, bad breath, athlete's foot, ulcer,
flesh eating, sleeping sickness, dust mite, and bookworm. |
